Look at the photos again, but understand that this sweet El Camino must be seen to be fully appreciated. ![]() Our current owner has taken excellent care of this classic Chevy. The clean chassis mounts power steering and 4-wheel power drum brakes w/dual master cylinder. A 4-speed manual transmission delivers torque to a stock differential. It is fitted with an aluminum intake, mild street cam, Edelbrock carb and a free-flowing dual exhaust system. Power is said to be furnished by a totally rebuilt 327/300bhp motor that is nicely detailed and sits in a clean engine compartment. Comfort features include AM/FM stereo system, custom mats, factory wheel, tinted windows, gauge package and tachometer. Carpeting, headliner, door cards and dash are in excellent condition. ![]() The handsome restored Red vinyl interior is more inviting than the GM original. Chrome and stainless are excellent and polished 15” American Racing wheels mount Kumho performance radials. The exterior was reshot in two-stage White and is in very good condition. This 1965 Chevy El Camino received a full restoration (2004) with mechanical upgrades. The second generation was reintroduced in 1964 and was based on the Chevelle platform. The first generation was based on the full-size Chevrolet sedan chassis and was only built for two years. The title shows only the final six digits of the thirteen characters in the vehicle’s chassis number.Chevrolet created their first 'hybrid' pickup in 1959 – the El Camino. Some corresponding registration slips and various manuals also will be included with the truck, as depicted below. Inspection slips from the Virginia State Police tally the mileage in the 1960s and 1970s. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The 283ci V8 was serviced in July 2021 with a carburetor rebuild, tune-up, fluid changes, and replacement exhaust side pipes were previously installed. The five-digit odometer shows just under 16k miles, less than 10 of which have been added by the selling dealer. The selling dealer replaced the headliner and the visors.Ī two-spoke steering wheel frames an instrument panel with Chevelle branding that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and a combination gauge. A Motorola FM radio is mounted under the dashboard in conjunction with a Chevrolet/Delco–branded AM radio in the factory location. The red carpeting is protected by matching rubber liners, and a sticker with jacking instructions remains affixed behind the passenger seat. The Medium Red (772) interior is equipped with a bench seat with lap belts. ![]() The covers for the red-painted 14″ steel wheels were replaced by the seller, who also had 195/75 Hankook Optimo H724 tires mounted. The paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below. The vehicle was delivered new in Regal Red (RR), and the exterior of the tailgate reportedly was refinished by the selling dealer. Now showing just under 16k miles, this El Camino is offered at no reserve in Texas with a purpose-output card, an owner’s manual, a service booklet, a Motorola manual and owner’s guide, a factory warning tag, Virginia registration slips and inspection certificates from the 1960s and 1970s, and a Virginia title. Service since that time has included rebuilding the carburetor, changing the fluids, and replacing the exhaust, tires, hubcaps, headliner, and visors. The truck is said to have been stored in the 1970s when it was last registered, and the selling dealer acquired it from the widow of its original owner in August 2020. Other features include 14″ wheels with covers, a bench seat, a Delco AM radio, and a Motorola FM radio. This 1965 Chevrolet El Camino was delivered new to Jim McKay Chevrolet of Fairfax, Virginia in Regal Red over red, and its 283ci V8 is paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission.
